Reddish Hall School is seeking a caring and dedicated School Support Worker to join our team. This is a rewarding role where you will make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with special educational needs.

About the Role

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with special educational needs.

You will work closely with teachers and therapists to provide tailored support both in and outside the classroom, helping pupils to develop confidence, independence, and positive behaviours. Your role is central to creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment where every pupil can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

1. Support pupils’ learning and engagement in line with their individual needs
2. Encourage and motivate pupils to reach their personal goals
3. Help pupils develop social, emotional, and behavioural skills
4. Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families
5. Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and positive school environment

Person Specification

Essential:

6. GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English – Grade C / 4 or above
7. Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
8. Calm, compassionate, and proactive approach
9. Strong team player with excellent communication skills

Desirable:

10. Experience working in a school or SEN setting
11. Knowledge of autism, SEMH, or trauma-informed practice
12. Willingness to learn and develop professionally

Reddish Hall School is an independent specialist day school for boys and girls aged from 5 to 18, catering for pupils with social emotional and mental health difficulties, with a high proportion of pupils who have a diagnosis of ASC.
