Logistics Adminstrator, Derby UK - Fixed Term Contract 6 months

We're hiring an experienced and diligent Logistics Adminstrator to join our team at our Derby office on a fixed-term basis. This is a key role working within our logistics and supply chain teams. This role ensures accurate documentation, timely processing of shipments, and coordination between suppliers, transport providers, warehouses, and internal departments to facilitate smooth and cost-effective delivery of goods and materials

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Shipping & Delivery Coordination Arrange and schedule shipments with freight carriers and couriers. Track deliveries to ensure timely arrival and handle delays or issues. Prepare shipping documents such as bills of lading, invoices, and customs forms. Inventory Management Monitor and update inventory records using software systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Excel). Reconcile stock discrepancies and coordinate with warehouse teams. Assist with inventory audits and stocktaking activities. Documentation & Data Entry Maintain accurate records of orders, shipments, and logistics-related documents. Input data into logistics or ERP systems and generate reports as needed. File and archive records in accordance with company policies. Supplier & Customer Communication Communicate with suppliers, freight companies, and customers to confirm order and delivery details. Respond to delivery inquiries, provide shipment updates, and resolve logistics issues. Liaise with internal departments (procurement, sales, warehouse) for smooth operations. Compliance & Regulations Ensure compliance with import/export laws, transportation regulations, and company policies. Support customs clearance processes by providing required documentation. Support Logistics Planning Assist in planning transportation routes and optimizing delivery schedules. Support the logistics manager in improving cost efficiency and delivery performance. Administrative Support Prepare logistics reports, performance metrics, and KPIs. Support invoice processing and cost tracking for logistics services. Order and manage packaging materials and office supplies for the logistics team.

Your experience includes:

2. Knowledge and experience working in a similar environment desirable
3. Good IT skills including excel, office and outlook are required
4. Previous SAP/WMS/BC knowledge desired but not essential
5. Outbound shipping
6. DG shipping and handling
7. Ability to work independently and manage workload when required
8. Able to work in a small team in a fast paced environment
9. Excellent communicator
10. Fast and willing learner
11. Ability to easily commute to and from our Derby office daily.
