School Finance Manager urgently needed (Part time 24 hrs a week)
* Annual Salary: £25,071 based on grade PS9 (FTE £41,585)
* Location: Staines, Middlesex, TW18
* Job Type: Part-time (24 hours per week over 4 days, 41 weeks per year)
* Start Date: March, on a permanent contract
We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated Finance Manager to join our happy and caring team at a community primary school in Staines. Under the direction of the Headteacher, the Finance Manager will provide efficient administrative support and manage the financial operations of the school.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Setting and managing budgets to ensure efficient financial operations.
* Acting as the main financial consultant to the Governors, Headteacher, and Teaching Staff.
* Ensuring compliance with Committee’s and County Council financial regulations and practices.
* Overseeing the proper collection, reconciliation, and banking of income including parental donations, lettings payments, and school visits payments.
* Preparing financial reports and forecasts to assist in decision-making and strategic planning.
* Managing procurement and expenditure to maximise cost-efficiency.
* Liaising with external auditors and ensuring that the school is prepared for audits.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience in financial management or a similar role.
* Strong understanding of budgeting and financial management.
* Excellent organisational and leadership abilities.
* Knowledge of financial regulations and accounting procedures.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Proficiency in financial software and MS Office.
