Overview
Senior Wellbeing Advisor to join the Crawley Wellbeing team, delivering the Crawley Wellbeing Service as part of the West Sussex Wellbeing Programme. This is a leadership role focused on delivering high quality behaviour change support, coordinating service delivery across the Crawley Wellbeing Hub and its outreach activities, and strengthening local partnerships to improve health outcomes and reduce inequalities.
Responsibilities
* Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision for the Wellbeing Advisor team, ensuring consistent, high-quality behaviour change support.
* Oversee the operation of the Crawley Wellbeing Hub, managing referrals, coordinating service delivery, monitoring and reporting, and maintaining relationships with local partners.
* Lead the development and delivery of the Hub’s advisory service and the Wellbeing Mobile Unit outreach programme, aligning activities with local priorities, public health data, and the annual business plan.
* Support community outreach, workplace health initiatives and the use of mobile units to reach residents across the borough.
* Support advisors in delivering one-to-one and group based interventions in areas such as physical activity, nutrition, weight management, alcohol reduction, smoking cessation, and NHS health checks.
* Represent the Council at key partnership groups across public health, West Sussex County Council and wider system partners; contribute to collaborative efforts to improve health outcomes and reduce health inequalities.
* Support service planning, helping shape future direction and identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
* Operate in a busy, community-focused service environment with a strong emphasis on public health impact.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Experience in leading frontline health or wellbeing teams and in coordinating a multi-component service delivery.
* Ability to manage referrals, report on performance, and maintain effective working relationships with local partners.
* Experience with planning and delivering community outreach and workplace health initiatives; capability to utilize mobile outreach resources to reach diverse populations.
* Knowledge of behaviour change principles and experience delivering interventions across physical activity, nutrition, weight management, alcohol reduction, smoking cessation, and NHS health checks is desirable.
* Strong communication, collaboration, and strategic planning skills; ability to contribute to service planning and identify opportunities for improvement and innovation in health inequalities.
