This is an exciting new role within the Care of the Elderly. There is an opportunity for both permanent full-time and part-time hours (up to 30 hours) for the role of the Clinical Coordinator. The Pinderfields Acute Assessment Care of the Elderly Unit, G41, is a busy 44-bedded, fast-paced assessment unit. The unit takes direct admissions from the Mid Yorkshire Trust's 3 Accident and Emergency departments, as well as GP referrals. We are also recruiting for G42, a busy 45-bedded Elderly Medicine and Neck of Femur unit, and G43, a busy 44-bedded Elderly Medicine Unit. We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate individual to join as a Clinical Coordinator who is eager to develop their knowledge and skills. Your duties will include supporting the nurse in charge in managing patient flow through the department safely, coordinating the admission, transfer, and discharge of patients. Candidates must have clinical experience; experience in managing patient flow is preferred but not essential for the right candidate. Ideal candidates should demonstrate good organisational skills, logical thinking, the ability to prioritise workload, and support the nurse in charge regarding patient flow. You will work closely with patients, patient flow teams, and emergency departments to ensure smooth flow through the units. Additionally, you will carry out administration duties supporting departmental targets and ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures. We are an acute trust caring for over one million people in Wakefield and Kirklees. Our 10,000 staff work across patients' homes, the community, and our three hospitals in Pontefract, Dewsbury, and Pinderfields (Wakefield). Committed to continuous improvement, we prioritise our people and values to deliver excellent patient experiences. Our team is friendly, passionate, and always seeking better ways to work through research and innovation. We support work-life balance and foster a diverse, inclusive environment where everyone belongs. Our staff networks provide safe spaces for honest conversations and sharing ideas, thoughts, and concerns to increase awareness and appreciation of equality, diversity, and inclusion. As a team member, you will have access to the NHS pension plan, a generous holiday allowance, employee health and wellbeing services, and extensive benefits including onsite nurseries, childcare vouchers, car lease and home electronics schemes, working carers support, and carer-friendly policies. If you value caring, high standards, improvement, and respect, join the MY team to make a difference every day.
