Salary: up to £90,000 per annum+ car allowance + benefits
My client is an established SME specialising in soft facilities management, with expertise in delivering high-quality cleaning services to major corporate clients. Due to ongoing expansion, they are recruiting a National Account Director to provide strategic leadership, drive performance, and ensure long-term client success across the UK.
This senior role carries full strategic and commercial accountability for a prestigious contract, making it ideal for an experienced account leader with a proven track record in managing large-scale, high-profile soft FM agreements.
About the Role
Reporting to executive leadership, you will act as the primary strategic interface with the client at national level. You will oversee operational delivery through regional teams, drive commercial growth, manage profitability, and position the company for further expansion within the account and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead overall account strategy, relationship management, and governance at senior client level, ensuring alignment with client objectives and contract SLAs
* Oversee national performance across all sites, working closely with regional operations to deliver consistent quality, compliance, and KPI achievement
* Manage commercial aspects including contract renewals, variations, pricing reviews, margin protection, and revenue growth opportunities
* Monitor financial performance (P&L accountability for the account), budgets, forecasting, and cost control
* Drive continuous improvement, innovation in service delivery, and sustainability initiatives to enhance client value
* Lead cross-functional collaboration with operations, finance, HR, and supply chain teams to support seamless execution
* Identify and pursue opportunities for account expansion, additional services, or referrals
* Ensure full compliance with health & safety, regulatory standards, and client-specific requirements across the portfolio
What We’re Looking For
* Significant experience as a National/Key Account Director
* Experience in soft FM and commercial cleaning services, ideally with large national/multi-site contracts is ESSENTIAL
* Strong commercial acumen, including P&L management, contract negotiation, and strategic account planning
* Proven ability to build and maintain senior-level client relationships in corporate environments
* Deep understanding of cleaning/soft services operations, quality systems, compliance (e.g., health & safety, COSHH, ISO), and performance metrics
* Excellent leadership and influencing skills, with experience directing regional teams indirectly
* Strategic mindset focused on growth, risk management, and long-term partnership development
* Full UK driving licence (national travel required)
