OVERVIEW:
- Manage a varied caseload of criminal defence matters
- Attend police stations to advise and represent clients
- Represent clients at the Magistrates' Court
- Assist with more complex Crown Court cases where appropriate
- Actively participate in the duty rota, including office:hours coverage and out:of:hours advice and representation
- Work closely with experienced colleagues on thorough case preparation
- Deliver high:quality, robust, and timely legal advice to clients
THE CANDIDATE:
- Qualified Solicitor
- Current Duty Accreditation (essential)
- Experience handling criminal matters, gained through: Training contracts, post:qualification experience and prior criminal defence work
- Strong advocacy skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Commitment to delivering high:quality client care
- Confident attending police stations and representing clients at the Magistrates' Court
- Willing to participate in the out:of:hours duty rota
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Proactive approach to case management
