Job Title: Team Leader – Children’s Residential (Learning Disabilities)
Location: ST14
Salary: £14.00 – £15.50 per hour (depending on qualifications and experience)
Contract: Full-time
Shift Pattern: 8:00am – 10:00pm (sleep-ins may be required)
We are recruiting an experienced Team Leader to join our brand-new complex of four residential homes supporting children and young people with learning disabilities. Each home accommodates up to 7 children/young people, providing a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where they can thrive.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role in shaping a new service and setting high standards of care from the outset.
About the Role
As Team Leader, you will:

Lead shifts and provide guidance to Residential Support Workers
*
Ensure high standards of care in line with children’s home regulations
*
Support children and young people with learning disabilities and complex needs
*
Promote independence, education, and positive behaviour support
*
Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and reviews
*
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
*
Support the Registered Manager and Deputy in the day-to-day running of the home
*
Act as a positive role model and uphold safeguarding responsibilities at all times
Shifts are typically 8am – 10pm, and sleep-ins may be required as part of the rota.
Essential Requirements
*
NVQ Level 3 in Children & Young People’s Residential (Essential)
*
Proven experience working with children/young people with learning disabilities (Essential)
*
Full UK driving licence (Essential – due to location and shift duties)
*
Strong leadership skills and ability to manage shifts confidently
*
Good knowledge of safeguarding and children’s home regulations
*
Resilient, organised, and child-centred approach
