Their work is heavily focused on low-carbon design, efficient energy strategies and supporting clients toward Net Zero targets.Your new roleThis is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Design Engineer to join a respected consultancy's Glasgow engineering team. The role involves contributing to the full lifecycle of building services projects - from feasibility and early-stage concept development through to detailed technical design, installation coordination and project completion. You will work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver innovative, sustainable electrical engineering solutions for a wide variety of projects across multiple sectors.Key Responsibilities:
* Develop electrical building services designs, including lighting, power distribution, life-safety systems and energy-efficient solutions.
* Produce technical calculations, reports, drawings and specifications in line with industry standards.
* Support feasibility studies, design reviews, energy assessments and modelling-related work where applicable.
* Coordinate with internal mechanical and sustainability specialists, external design teams, contractors and clients.
* Assist in ensuring designs comply with relevant regulations, energy targets and best-practice guidance.
* Contribute to project planning, documentation control and design stage management across multiple projects.
What you'll need to succeed
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent experience).
* Prior experience in electrical building services design within the consultancy or construction environment.
* Competency in industry design software (such as AutoCAD, Amtech, NBS or similar); experience with Revit is beneficial.
* Strong written, numerical and communication skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
* A proactive, flexible approach with commitment to technical quality and sustainable design.
* Full, permanent right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available).
