The Corporate Governance Officer will support the Company Secretariat in delivering the highest standards of corporate governance in the Trust, ensuring compliance with the regulatory framework, Trust licence, relevant legislation and Trust Constitution.
The role will ensure that meetings of the Board sub-committees run efficiently and effectively by providing administrative support.
Main duties of the job
* Providing administrative support to ensure Board sub-committee meetings run efficiently and effectively.
* Drafting agendas in line with cycles of business and circulating with a call for papers. Chasing, preparing and collating papers and uploading them to iBabs - the Trust's paperless Board portal.
* Supporting the recruitment of the Trust Chair and Non-Executive Directors, as well as annual appraisals and re-appointments.
* Providing administrative support to the Executive Director of Corporate Governance.
* The role is hybrid with home working and on site presence at Basildon University Hospital with occasional travel to Broomfield and Southend Hospitals.

Qualifications Essential
* GCSE or equivalent standard of literacy and numeracy, including C in English and Maths
Knowledge and Experience Essential
* Ability to use Microsoft packages, systems and databases
* Experience working within a senior administrative role
* Experience at developing and implementing governance arrangements
* Experience of producing high quality minutes for senior meetings within a complex organisation
* Proven ability to work and multi-task under pressure, respond quickly to changing situations in complex environments
* Ability to prioritise workload without direction to meet deadlines, deal with competing priorities and to make judgements about the importance of certain tasks and issues
Communication Skills Essential
* Providing, receiving and handling complex and sensitive information
* Ability to draft reports and letters to a high standard
* Ability to manage diaries and communication
* Excellent and proven communication skills, both written and verbal, plus the ability to communicate with individuals at all levels
