Overview
We are extremely proud of our Echocardiography departments across our two sites. We perform standard transthoracic studies and also 3D echocardiograms, bubble and contrast studies and stress echo procedures, while supporting the transoesophageal echo service.
Responsibilities
* Perform and contribute to a range of echocardiography services including standard transthoracic studies, 3D echocardiograms, bubble and contrast studies, and stress echocardiography.
* Support the transoesophageal echocardiography service as required.
* Provide in-house training for junior physiologists to enhance patient‑centred care.
* Contribute to weekend work on a rotational basis as part of the service rota.
Qualifications and experience
* Hold BSE accreditation and have BSc in Cardiac Physiology or BTEC HNC or equivalent; full TTE BSE accreditation is required to be considered for this post.
* Clinical skills in cardiac rhythm management or PCI are desirable but not essential.
* Additional consideration for candidates with broader cardiovascular interventional experience.

* This post will include Saturday working on a rotational basis.
* Relocation support is available—up to £13,000 for relocation within the UK, with further details on the Trust website.
* Standard hours are 08:00-18:00 (flexible by discussion); UHD supports a four-day working week and ongoing professional development through departmental meetings, MDT imaging reviews, and attendance at national conferences.
* There is potential for site moves as part of Trust-wide service developments; some services may move sites temporarily or long term, and travel arrangements will reflect normal commute policies.
