Overview
Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Team Leader role at EDF (UK). Lead from the front in the Fleet Turbine & Maintenance Group, focusing on safety, innovation, and teamwork to power millions of homes. This position is based at Heysham 2 Power Station with UK-wide travel as required.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Lead and manage a team of 6 technicians to deliver plant Electrical and C&I maintenance, taking responsibility for safety, effectiveness, productivity and quality of work.
* Ensure staffing levels and resources are available to accomplish planned maintenance and emergent work within agreed timescales.
* Be responsible for the delivery of the workweek plans or outage plan.
* Perform appraisals to actively develop the team.
* Walk down equipment before work to identify procedural/package deficiencies, spare anomalies or obstacles affecting execution.
* Spend time in the field monitoring, observing and assessing Operations Technicians & Semi-Skilled Technicians.
* Set to work and briefings, human performance tools, work practices, training/qualification processes, and application of industrial safety practices.
* Support and ensure effective interactions with work management & quality systems; support daily priorities and clearly communicate them.
* Reinforce positive attitudes and professional behaviours to improve safety and performance; support continuous improvement.
Who You Are
* Experience supervising maintenance teams within large, complex environments, ideally with large electrical generators and equipment in power generation or heavy industry.
* Sound understanding of Electrical and Control/Instrumentation principles; knowledge of outage and breakdown maintenance of large generators and associated auxillary plant.
* Ability to influence and engage stakeholders and navigate internal systems like finance, supply chain, and planning tools.
* Safety-conscious and proactive with a solid understanding of outage and work management processes; likely 1+ year working with turbines and a strong foundation in technical operations or engineering with leadership experience.
* Hands-on experience, leadership mindset, and commitment to excellence; commercially aware and people-focused. Qualifications such as HNC/D or project management certification are desirable but not essential.
Pay, Benefits & Culture
The salary range is £60,688 to £81,267.
