Overview
We are in search of a range of Cyber Security Engineers with varied technical backgrounds to work at our customer sites in Huntingdon and/or London, with occasional travel to other UK sites. In this role you will be part of a security engineering team reporting to the Cyber Security Engineering Lead, ensuring that customer sites maintain a strong security posture and that security functions are delivered to a high standard.
Responsibilities
* Implement and maintain security tooling and technical controls.
* Work with engineering teams to ensure systems remain in compliance with baseline security requirements.
* Develop and document system security baselines.
* Collaborate with the Protective Monitoring team to forward logs to SIEM capabilities.
* Develop new policies, design processes and procedures, and create technical designs in partnership with customer stakeholders.
* Assess system vulnerabilities, implement risk mitigation strategies, validate secure systems, and test security products to detect weaknesses.
Qualifications
* Strong defence‑in‑depth, multi‑layered security architecture knowledge.
* Experience implementing detective and preventative controls to reduce risk to acceptable levels.
* Proficient with the systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements and configuration management.
* Familiar with various project lifecycles/methodologies such as waterfall, incremental, SAFE agile and DevOps.
* Experience in design trade‑offs, working with architects to deliver integrated solutions.
* Understanding of security operational management and service operations planning.
* Experience in delivery and proposal environments, including MOD or Home Office projects.
* Knowledge of Defence Digital solutions and MOD technology approaches.
* Excellent understanding of CIA and practical experience applying it.
* Hands‑on experience with Endpoint Protection, Malware, App Control, and DLP products.
* Experience implementing security requirements for Microsoft OS, Linux OS, virtualisation, networking and endpoint security.
* Working knowledge of the accreditation process for secure/sensitive systems.
* Experience producing and updating design artefacts.
* Knowledge of SIEM operation, maintenance, firewall and other boundary protection technologies.
* Familiarity with authentication and authorisation technologies such as SAML, LDAP, PKI.
* Knowledge of public and private cloud security infrastructure, including virtual network, IaaS, PaaS and SaaS solutions.
Desirable Experience
* Experience working in both delivery and proposal environments.
* Experience with MOD or Home Office project environments.
* Experience working within an AGILE environment.
