Job Description
The key responsibilities of the Exam Invigilator include:
1. Ensuring the security of exam papers and materials at all times, and returning them as instructed.
2. Setting up exam rooms in accordance with standard JCQ regulations.
3. Admitting candidates into exam rooms and checking for unauthorised items (e.g., mobile phones, pencil cases).
4. Responding to candidate queries without offering specific help or guidance.
5. Supervising candidates to ensure full compliance with regulatory standards.
6. Recording and reporting irregularities, including completing required documentation (e.g., late arrivals).
7. Collecting exam scripts following the correct procedures and verifying them against the attendance register.
8. Attending training sessions, including refresher and review meetings, or completing online training.
9. Being prepared to invigilate computer-based or on-screen assessments when necessary.
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate for the Exam Invigilator role should have:
1. A good standard of Maths and English.
2. Strong organisational and time management skills.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
5. The ability to work silently for periods of time.
6. The ability to commute to Godalming and surrounding areas.
7. Previous experience in Education and Training.
