JOB TITLE: Performance Rehab Lead – Women’s Team
LOCATION: Cobham
The Opportunity
This role will lead the strategy and delivery aspects of the rehabilitation services to our 1st team women’s players. As an active member of the Performance Leadership Team, who deliver at a group and individual player level within the Women’s 1st Team, this role will drive excellence within all aspects of performance rehabilitation whilst developing robust and innovative processes around return-to-play.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the formulation and implementation of a strategic vision for the Performance Rehabilitation aspect of Performance Support through shared consciousness and the empowered execution of a process and data driven, evidence-based programme.
* Strategically build competence, framework and consistency in the Performance Rehabilitation programme, more specifically ensuring (for all assigned players of CFC Women’s 1st team):
* Lead on the development of world class, criteria-based, rehabilitation and return to play processes for all injured 1st team women’s players
* Lead on the delivery of rehabilitation processes for all medium- to long-term injured players.
* Lead in the development of evidence based “best practice” guidelines for the rehabilitation of common injuries and return to play progressions and testing protocols.
* Lead on the delivery of regular case reviews of all injury management in the Women’s 1st Team with emphasis on learning for improvement.
* Provide leadership and line management of staff within the Performance Rehabilitation strand, ensuring that working practices are regularly reviewed and developed in line with latest evidence and experience.
* Contribute to high quality management of injuries effectively through clinical assessment, audit and accurate documentation.
* To work alongside the other members of the Performance Medicine team including external specialists in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of players in line with current evidence-based best practice – providing clinical challenge appropriately, in the best interests of the player and team (availability and readiness, short and long term).
* Support effective communication with key management staff, Head of Performance Support, Head of Women’s Football, Head Coach etc.
* Promote and model a growth mindset within the Performance Support Team, through the active support of Professional Development (structured/unstructured, technical/soft skills, on the job/in a classroom), the leading of Performance Appraisals and commitment to Personal Development Plans.
What you will bring to the role:
* BSc Hons in Physiotherapy.
* CSP/HCPC Registration.
* MSc in Sport Physiotherapy, Sports Rehabilitation, or related.
* Valid FA ATMMiF qualification (non-essential – can be acquired in-post).
* Extensive experience delivering performance rehabilitation within an elite sport setting (Football an advantage but not essential).
* Demonstrable evidence of leading or managing a team of people within an elite sport setting.
* Outstanding clinical assessment skills and understanding of common pathologies.
* Clear and demonstrable experience of planning and delivering on objective, criteria led return to sport rehabilitation plans.
* Clear emphasis towards empowering athletes within the rehabilitation process, ensuring that an active, rather than passive, approach is taken wherever possible.
* Strong emphasis on working within a team and capacity to share knowledge to benefit all.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
