Job Overview
To work with others and deliver youth work sessions as directed by the Youth Work Manager.
To use your skill and creativity to support young people engage with our youth work provision.
Duties
* To work under the youth worker in charge and alongside other staff to deliver a variety of high quality and enjoyable youth work activities that meet the recreational interests and needs of young people.
* To form effective professional relationships with young people, other professionals and the local community.
* To promote and raise awareness of the youth work provisions that you and the team will be delivering in Pinxton and South Normanton.
* To be proactive, seeking out the daily plan and working with others to set up the session, always working to ensure the safe delivery of youth work activities.
* To work with the rest of the youth work team and be able to use your own initiative to anticipate and consider what necessary actions need to happen to keep the provision safe, accessible, relevant, and engaging.
* To reflect on and evaluate your own practice and the youth work session. Your contribution to evaluation is crucial to the planned development of activities that meet the needs of young people
* To work as part of a team to deliver good quality youth work in any location within South Normanton and Pinxton if it is safe to do so. This will include recreational grounds, Youth Club buildings and other areas deemed youth work friendly.
* To engage young people in social education sessions that focus on current issues, increasing their accessibility to information and advice.
* To work with others to provide diversionary activities to young people aged 10 to 16 years to divert them away from anti-social behaviour and/or risk taking activities.
* To ensure all safeguarding, health and safety and other duties of care are met; including the completion of risk assessments.
* To attend meetings and training as and when required by the post.
* To ensure that the requirements of SNaP Youth's equal opportunities are met by delivering anti-discriminating practice and challenge oppression and discrimination appropriately.
* To undertake other duties as may reasonably be expected in relationship to the benefit of the SNAP Youth and grade of the post as directed by the Youth Work Project Manager.

Pay: £12.50 per hour
