I was born with a rare condition called Ectopia cordis, which means that I was born with my heart outside of my chest wall. I have a number of complex care needs, and I am nonverbal which can make communication difficult. I am looking for team of Personal Assistants with a caring, patient nature to join my team and get to know me, understanding my complex needs and ways of communicating as well as respecting my family home. You will be supported to get to know my unique set of requirements, covering all aspects of personal and medical care, supporting with PEG feeding, respiratory needs, medication, epilepsy care, mobility and communication, as well as simply getting to know me at my own pace and supporting me to remain happy and safe. You will be required to get to know myself and the team- through meetings, shadowing, and a bespoke training programme. You will receive all mandatory training and specialised training annually. ABOUT YOU You will need to be a calm, friendly and fun, flexible and unphased by my health needs and situations which you may need to support me with. I require 1:1 waking night support to ensure I remain safe and well overnight whilst supporting me with my complex respiratory needs, as well as support during the day when I am not at school.
