Support Worker/Personal Assistant (2 positions).

Details
* You will be supporting a lady in her 30s to access the community and have fun.
* This will include shopping trips, visits to local attractions such as The Wild Place or We The Curious.
* There will be evening shifts which could include events taking place at this lady’s church or music gigs or meals out with friends.
* Once you are more confident you will be taking this lady out on day trips which might include bus journeys or train trips.
* Hopefully you and one other carer will be taking her for weekends away.
* There will be some personal care involved.
* You will also need to give her drinks and food during your shift.
* You will need to be confident to communicate with someone who is non-verbal.
* As you will be travelling with this lady you will need to have a good command of the English language and knowledge of the UK.
* A Full DBS Police Check will be required.
Skills and Experience
* Experience in Care Work would be an advantage but paramount.
* Manual Handling Training will be required and we can provide this through South Glos.
* Epilepsy Training will also be provided by South Glos Council.
* All other training will be provided on the job by family.
* You will be given shadow shifts until we are all confident that you can work on your own.
* For day trips etc you will be working with another Personal Assistant (2:1)
* You will need to be relatively fit as you will be pushing a wheelchair during your shifts.
* Please note that we are only looking for female carers.
Hours
Hours will average out to 20 hours per week during term time.
