Department The School for Business and Society is an interdisciplinary school, combining the collective strengths from the University of York Management School and the Department of Social Policy & Social Work. It provides a unique opportunity, working collectively with staff and students and our partners to pioneer impactful interdisciplinary research and teaching for public good, delivering inclusive growth. Our education focuses on providing an inclusive and empowering approach that changes our students’ lives and, by so doing, contributes to broader social change. We are seeking to appoint a Student Services Administrator for a fixed-term of one year to cover maternity leave, starting 1 September 2025. Role The role of Student Services Administrator is both busy and varied, and involves supporting a large number of students, including international students. You will gain an understanding of a range of programme structures and regulations to respond to detailed queries. You will support the student lifecycle, from induction to graduation and will take responsibility for administering a full range of administrative tasks, with the objective of sharing best practice, improving efficiency and communication. With the ability to work to tight deadlines, whilst managing conflicting priorities, the role-holder will be expected to provide high levels of customer service at all times with a friendly, approachable, ‘can-do’ attitude. Skills, Experience & Qualifications needed Level 2 qualification including Maths and English. (Qualifications at this level include five GCSEs at grade AC/ grade 4-9. Please view the full list.) We also welcome applicants with equivalent non-UK qualifications or equivalent professional experience.
