Communicate plans effectively to drivers, farmers, customers and field staff, providing prompt updates when changes occur.
Manage external hauliers by issuing correct documentation and monitoring progress.
Ensure all drivers have the required customer and regulatory documents, including pig movement licences and export declarations.
Maintain driver rotas, manage holiday cover and ensure compliance with driver hours regulations and infringement procedures.
Book vehicle inspections, MOTs, maintenance and defect repairs with the in-house garage.
Support the Transport Manager with transport compliance documentation.
Create and update driver route risk assessments and assist the Health & Safety team with safe systems of work and SOPs.
Previous experience in transport planning, logistics coordination or a similar operational role.
Solid understanding of transport compliance, including driver hours, vehicle maintenance requirements and regulatory documents.
Competent IT skills, including vehicle tracking systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in planning, paperwork and compliance records.
