Your role
The Compliance and Energy Manager ensures the effective management of all campus’ compliance and energy objectives through managing energy/sustainability projects in conjunction with other stakeholders, identifying and delivering opportunities for compliance improvements. The role works closely with the site management teams, UK H&S and UK Energy and sustainability Manager.
What you'll do
1. Manage site-level energy and compliance related projects and report on progress to the UK Project Management Office if required.
2. Support Manager Engineering Operations (MEO) in tracking the lifecycle of engineering assets, provide input to the budget-setting process and manage the replacement of end-of-life assets and components ensuring energy reduction at the heart of all projects.
3. Identify energy-saving opportunities throughout the site, and work with the external energy consultants to develop, propose and implement solutions.
4. Work with customers and Digital Realty stakeholders to reduce PUE through control strategy modifications.
5. Collate and review power usage and climate data for monthly reporting and billing purposes.
6. Co-ordinate and provide all necessary information as we as host internal and external audits including ISO, SOC2 and PCI.
7. Manage Assurity Health & Safety audits and closure of any actions raised.
8. Regularly check in with the UK H&S team and track any outstanding items raised.
9. Complete Site Safety Snapshot in accordance with company procedure.
10. Regularly audit site logbooks to ensure they are up-to-date and correct.
11. Manage power distribution ensuring even distribution across UPS’s where possible.
12. Ensure all site compliance documentation/paperwork is up to date.
13. Responsible for closure of site(s) Action Bulletins.
What you'll need
14. Thorough experience in Data Centre Operations and critical environments
15. Strong understanding of Building Management Systems, UPS, Generators, Electrical & Cooling infrastructure
16. Able to calculate PUE and understand its relevance.
17. Able to understand and interpret technical drawings and technical documentation.
18. Proficient in the use of IT
19. Good knowledge of health & safety
20. Understanding of Data Centre Customer expectations
21. Awareness of ISO, SOC and PCI accreditations and requirements
22. Good problem-solving and decision-making skills
23. Attention to detail.
