CBRE Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Projects to lead our Principal Contracting team in London. If you're passionate about project delivery, business development, and team leadership, this is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact.

Unlike traditional agency models, we contract directly with the supply chain, managing projects from end-to-end. This includes:
Comprehensive Project Oversight: Schedule, budget, and safety management.
Cost Certainty & Savings: Driving efficiency and maximizing value.
End-to-End Responsibility: Managing the entire project lifecycle.
The Opportunity:
As Head of Projects, you'll be a key leader responsible for driving the success and growth of our Principal Contracting team. You'll ensure the safe and efficient delivery of projects, generate new business opportunities, and lead a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Project Leadership:
* Oversee the safe and successful delivery of projects, ensuring they meet deadlines, budgets, and client expectations.
* Proactively manage project risks (technical, safety, commercial) and ensure compliance with regulations.
* Maximize profitability through cost management and efficient resource utilization.
Business Development & Growth:
* Develop a robust sales pipeline to drive revenue growth for the business unit.
* Lead the bid and proposal process, leveraging innovative solutions and technologies.
* Cultivate strong client relationships and identify new project opportunities.
Team Management & Development:
* Recruit, train, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of project managers. Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
* Ensure team members have the skills and resources needed to succeed.
Financial Oversight & Reporting:
* Develop and manage project financial plans, ensuring profitability and cost control.
* Oversee the P&L, manage cash flow, and provide regular financial reporting.
* Chair project review meetings to ensure financial transparency and accountability.
Relationship Building & Collaboration:
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, supply partners, and internal stakeholders.
* Collaborate with operational managers to ensure seamless project execution.
Compliance & Safety:
* Ensure team compliance with project management policies, procedures, and health & safety standards.
What We're Looking For:
Experience:
* Proven project management experience in M&E, FM, construction, or critical environments.
* Experience in developing new project opportunities and managing a P&L.
* Demonstrable experience in leading and managing a team.
* Experience in creating, presenting, and managing bids and proposals.
Knowledge:
* Strong understanding of the construction market and project management methodologies.
* Broad knowledge of construction health and safety law and legislation.
* Understanding of financial terminology and metrics.
Skills:
* Commercial awareness and strong financial acumen.
* Excellent influencing, selling, and negotiation skills.
* Strong communication and presentation skills.
* Networking and relationship-building skills.
Qualifications:
* Recognized technical qualification in construction, mechanical, or electrical discipline.
* Strong written and verbal literacy, as well as numeracy skills.
* Recognized qualification in project management (preferred).
Aptitude:
* Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
* An excellent relationship builder with the ability to inspire confidence.
* Ability to challenge the status quo and drive innovation.
