We have an exciting opportunity for a GMC Specialist Registered Consultant Urologist to join the group in Guernsey.
Job Summary
We are looking to appoint a consultant urologist to provide high‑quality, comprehensive secondary care to the local community in the Bailiwick of Guernsey (approximately 65,000 people). The position arose due to increased demand for urological services. Historically the service has been provided by a single‑handed urologist.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing all core urological elective and emergency conditions.
* Encouraging subspecialty interests.
* Providing specialist care and taking full and independent responsibility for patient clinical care.
* Integrating care with the tertiary centre and establishing personal links.
Applicants must be on the GMC Specialist Register or be within 6 months of eligibility for inclusion at the time of interview.

Person Specification
Essential
* Full registration with the GMC.
* On GMC Specialist Register for Urology or within 6 months of CCT at interview.
* FRCS or equivalent.
* Eligible to work and reside in the UK.
* Evidence of participation in quality improvement activities.
* Evidence of commitment to good clinical governance.
* Evidence of involvement in education of colleagues.
* Ability to teach clinical skills to nursing staff and medical students.
* Ability to communicate in written and spoken English.
* Ability to lead, take responsibility and make decisions.
* Commitment to continuing medical education and service improvement.
* Demonstrates empathy and ability to build rapport.
Desirable
* Higher degree.
* Management course or evidence of management structures/processes.
* Knowledge/experience in utilisation of digitalised systems.
* Instructor on a recognised course.
* Publications/research activity.
* More than 1 year experience at consultant level.
* Expertise to develop a sub‑specialty interest.
* Broad basic general surgical background.
* Willingness to undertake additional responsibilities.
