This is a contract role for 6 months initially to provide support in finance with a well-known educational organisation based in Aberdeen. To start as soon as possible, this role could develop and become permanent. This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance during an important period of transition.
Main duties and responsibilities
* Performing detailed balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
* Reviewing and analysing monthly accounting reports to identify variances and anomalies.
* Analysing and scrutinising the profit and loss statement.
* Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities through comprehensive financial analysis.
* Managing and overseeing the capital expenditure (Capex) process.
Applicants to this role require
* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent) or QBE with substantial relevant experience.
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in a comparable accounting role.
* Proven experience in audit, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
* Attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
* Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
* Able to work independently, managing priorities to meet tight deadlines.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
