Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker – Northbrook Children Inpatient Ward
Part Time – 34.5 hours per week.
An opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker to join the fast‑paced team on the Northbrook Children Inpatient Ward (Winchester). If you are looking for a new challenge we are interested in hearing from you.
Northbrook Ward on the Winchester site is an 18‑bedded unit that provides care for children who require admission as an emergency, from the Emergency Department (ED), Sophie’s Place (SP) or GP’s. Children may also be booked in for treatment with Oncology, Orthopaedic, General Surgical or Medical Problems.
Role Overview
You will be expected to support and work along the nursing staff to ensure that high quality care is delivered to the children and their families who access our service.
Key Responsibilities
* Support nursing staff to deliver high quality care to children and families on the ward.
* Work in a rapidly changing environment and communicate effectively with staff, patients and families.
* Assist with child admission and treatment procedures as required.
* Participate in ongoing professional development and QIS/Child learning opportunities.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Evidence of excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
* Evidence of childcare or nursery nurse training (essential).
