The Role and the Team
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Risk & Compliance Manager to take ownership of our risk, compliance and governance capability.
As the organisation grows and regulatory complexity evolves, you'll be responsible for ensuring our risk and compliance frameworks remain effective, proportionate and aligned with business priorities, acting as a trusted strategic adviser to senior leadership on complex regulatory matters across consumer protection, data protection and financial services.
You'll lead the development and implementation of the organisation's risk and compliance strategy, driving transparent decision-making and embedding regulatory awareness across the business.
You'll also play a key role in supporting strong corporate governance practices and board reporting
What You’ll Do
* Design andmaintainBlue Light Cards enterprise risk and compliance frameworks, governance structures, risk registers andmonitoringprocesses, ensuring theyremainproportionate,effectiveand aligned with organisational growth
* Lead and oversee regulatory compliance across key areas includingFCA perimeter considerations and financial promotions, Consumer protection regulation, Advertising standards, Data protection and privacyand Fraud and consumer risk
* Design andmaintaincompliance controls, policies,trainingand monitoring processes to support regulatory compliance across the organisation
* Monitor and horizon-scan regulatory developments including FCA, FSMA, Consumer Duty, ASA/CAP, CMA, CPRs and data protection frameworks and support the organisation in responding appropriately to regulatory change
* Provide practical and commercially focused guidance on new products,partnershipsand customer journeys, particularly in relation to financial services,utilitiesand regulated consumer sectors
* Identifyopportunities to utilise technology, datainsightsand automation to enhance compliance monitoring and governance oversight
* Provide leadership and strategic direction to the risk and compliance team, setting clear expectations and fostering a culture of accountability andhigh standardswithin the function
* Build strong working relationships and deliver guidance, training and tools to help teams understand regulatory obligations and manage risk effectively
* Promote a culture where risk and compliance considerations support responsible business growth and informed decision-making
* Support board and committee governance processes
What You’ll Bring
* Significant risk and compliance experience working at pace, in a high growth technology business
* Proven people management experience leading and developing a small team, setting clear expectations and driving high performance
* Strong knowledge of relevant UK regulatory frameworks spanning consumer protection, data protection and financial services regulation, including FCA perimeter considerations, Consumer Duty and financial promotions
* Proven ability to act as a trusted strategic adviser to the business on complex regulatory matters, translating regulatory requirements into practical, commercially relevant guidance and balancing risk appetite with commercial opportunity
* Experience supporting regulatory considerations across multiple jurisdictions or cross-border environments
* Strong stakeholder management skills and a track record of engaging with senior leadership to influence decision-making in fast-moving teams
* Familiarity with modern compliance monitoring tools, automation or regulatory technology solutions
* [Not essential but beneficial] Experience working in private equity backed businesses, supporting organisations during periods of growth or regulatory change
