Vestas Blades Process Engineering is a core part of Vestas Blades Manufacturing, built on a process-driven, co-located model with a solid focus on engineering excellence. The department is structured around key manufacturing areas: Layup, Infusion, Bonding, Handling & Logistics, Finish & Paint, and Technical Integration.
Our mission is to embed engineering directly into the manufacturing value stream, enabling faster decisions, comprehensive process ownership, and scalable, standardized solutions. With teams distributed across Northern and Central Europe, we ensure close collaboration with operations and consistent, high-quality support across all sites.
We are evolving into a data-driven, decentralized organization with a culture rooted in innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement—setting new benchmarks in blade manufacturing performance.
Responsibilities
1. Manage the analysis of current (AS-IS) and future state processes, and define strategic plans for the Infusion area
2. Facilitate performance management by establishing KPIs and process indicators, while promoting ongoing enhancement initiatives
3. Establish and maintain a competence center for the Infusion process, embedding engineering skills into manufacturing
4. Apply Six Sigma/Lean methodologies to ensure a data-driven, quantitative approach to process optimization
5. Develop and implement standardized manufacturing processes, tooling solutions, and user-focused documentation
6. Ensure scalability and repeatability of processes across internal and external sites
7. Build a positive team culture focused on excellence, innovation, and accountability, while engaging with stakeholders to solve operational challenge
Qualifications
8. Master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related field
9. Certified in Green Belt Six Sigma or advanced manufacturing process analysis
10. + years of experience in similar leadership roles within process engineering
11. Established experience leading teams of up to specialists or highly skilled professionals
12. Solid background in data- and quality-driven manufacturing environments
13. Experience promoting a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and people development
14. Knowledge of composite materials (fiberglass, carbon fiber, epoxy resins)
Competencies
15. Solid end-to-end understanding of manufacturing processes and products
16. Ability to operate effectively at both strategic and tactical levels
17. Skilled in embedding engineering into the manufacturing value stream for faster decision-making
18. Proficient in data analytics, root-cause problem solving, and continuous improvement
19. Experienced in developing standardized processes and scalable tooling solutions
20. Solid communicator with the ability to engage across functions and organizational levels
21. Self-motivated, customer-oriented, and capable of building networks across cultures and time zones
