Lever Edge Primary Academy, a forward-thinking and inclusive primary school, is looking for a highly skilled and motivated SENCO to join our leadership team. We host a fully resourced, purpose-built on-site SEND Unit. This specialist provision supports pupils with a range of complex needs in a nurturing and structured environment, while maintaining strong links with the wider school community.
Responsibilities
* Lead the whole-school SEND strategy across nursery, mainstream school and the unit-based provision.
* Coordinate and develop outstanding support for pupils with a wide range of additional needs.
* Work alongside an experienced team of teachers, teaching assistants, therapists and external professionals.
* Play a central role in shaping inclusive practice and provision across the school.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Strong leadership with a deep understanding of SEND and a commitment to improving outcomes for all learners, especially those who need it most.
* Experience as a teacher with a strong understanding of SEND and readiness to take the next step in your career.
* Alignment with our inclusive ethos and commitment to ensuring every child receives the support they need to thrive.
* Ability to work with a diverse team including teachers, teaching assistants, therapists and external professionals.
* Compliance with safeguarding requirements; knowledge of DBS checks and related processes.
