This Senior Planner job role will include, live project planning, project control and retrospective delay analysis, alternative dispute resolution and contract administration.
You will gain regular exposure to supporting the expert witness on projects that are experiencing significant disputes and potentially preparing for mediation and adjudication, as well as carrying out a more traditional planning role.
Responsibilities and Duties
As a part of this Senior Consultant job, you will be given the chance to work autonomously on projects, as well as supporting senior delay experts in individual arbitration matters to assist clients in acquiring the desired legal outcome.
Specific duties will include (but are not limited to):
1. Forensic analysis in alternative dispute resolution (ADR)
2. Clear and impartial evidence for tribunals (ADR)
3. Feasibility studies
4. Contract Administration
5. Control, manage and report contractual obligations from procurement to final account.
6. Determine schedules, monitor programmes, and understand risks.
7. Writing reports that can be used in negotiations as well as formal dispute resolution procedures including adjudication, mediation, and litigation; created as an advocate or an assistant to a neutral expert.
8. Accurate assessments of progress
9. Assist in training graduate planners.
Desired Skills and Experience
10. 3 + years of experience as a construction project planner, with some exposure to and experience of delay analysis job duties & able to undertake basic tasks unassisted to a high standard.
11. Some experience of writing narratives
12. Pre and post contract Planning experience on large-scale, complex projects
13. Have an understanding and hopefully some experience of how to prove entitlement for extensions of times (EOT) claims.
14. Must have a good working knowledge of Primavera P6 or Asta Powerproject, or both.
15. Must have exceptional writing skills and able to contribute to reports where necessary, including the use of persuasive language.
16. Be comfortable in a client-facing role.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements
18. Degree level education in a construction related field or similar equivalent qualification is desired.
19. Membership to a professional body such as the CIOB or CIArb would be advantageous.
20. Relevant MSc in engineering and/ or Construction Law and Disputes LLM would be a strong advantage.
