Quality Assurance Technician
Location: Clitheroe
We are currently seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to join our Technical team at our Clitheroe site. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in FMCG manufacturing who is passionate about food safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Available Shifts
1. Sunday – Thursday, 6:00am – 2:00pm
Includes an additional 10% pay enhancement for any weekend working (Saturday–Sunday)
2. Saturday – Wednesday, 10:00pm – 6:00am
Includes an additional 15% pay enhancement for night shifts
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Quality (25%)
3. Conduct HACCP audits and monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs)
4. Calibrate weighing and temperature measurement equipment
5. Verify cleaning standards using hygiene management systems (including swabbing and titration)
6. Collect samples for microbiological and chemical analysis
Hygiene & Housekeeping (25%)
7. Carry out hygiene and GMP audits in line with schedules
8. Communicate audit results and coordinate corrective actions
9. Perform glass, foreign body, and fabrication audits
10. Work closely with the Shift Manager to resolve hygiene issues
Quality Management System (20%)
11. Maintain and update quality documentation, including SOPs and training records
Production Evaluation (20%)
12. Assess raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished products against specifications
13. Conduct physical, chemical, and organoleptic testing
14. Support process trials as required
Project Work (10%)
15. Assist with technical and quality improvement projects
16. Report findings and collaborate with cross-functional teams
About You
17. Minimum 1 year’s experience in an FMCG manufacturing environment
18. Food Safety Level 2 and HACCP Level 2 (essential)
19. Good standard of English and Maths
20. Highly organised with strong attention to detail
21. Able to manage large volumes of data efficiently
22. Proactive, flexible, and able to use your own initiative
23. Keen to learn and develop new skills
Working Environment
24. Site-based role in Clitheroe
25. Work within a factory environment, including chilled and frozen areas
26. Some manual handling required (lifting up to 20kg+)
