We are a well-established and growing regional fit-out main contractor based in Hertfordshire, specialising in high-quality commercial and pharmaceutical fit-out and refurbishment projects.

As part of our continued expansion, we are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager (SHEQ) to join our team.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Head of SHEQ, you will play a key role in driving health, safety, environmental and quality standards across the business. This is a hands-on and strategic position, working closely with operational teams to ensure best practice is embedded throughout all projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Support and work alongside the Head of SHEQ to implement and develop SHEQ strategy
* Ensure compliance with HSE legislation and industry best practice
* Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments across regional projects
* Lead investigations into incidents, near misses, and non-conformances
* Drive a positive safety culture across site and office teams
* Deliver training, toolbox talks, and internal briefings
* Maintain and improve management systems and accreditations
* Liaise with clients, consultants, and external auditors
About You
* Proven experience in a Health & Safety or SHEQ Manager role within construction or fit-out
* Experience working on commercial and/or pharmaceutical projects is highly desirable
* Strong working knowledge of CDM regulations and HSE legislation
* NEBOSH qualification (or equivalent) essential
* Proactive, confident communicator able to influence at all levels
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
* Full UK driving licence
