Role: Branch Operations Manager\n\nLocation: Watford, Hertfordshire\n\nSector: Construction Supplies\n\nSalary: £48,000-£50,000 (negotiable) + performance bonuses + benefits\n\nFull time Branch Operations Manager position for a national distributor of construction materials based in Watford.\n\nOperations Manager Role:\n\nReporting into the Branch Manager, as the Branch Operations Manager, you will be responsible for all transport and warehouse activities on the site to ensure that all operations are carried out efficiently and effectively.\n\nYou will be responsible for undertaking people management responsibilities for the team, providing leadership, coaching and development, all while monitoring and reviewing legislation related to health and safety, transport, the environment and ensuring all site activities operate within their parameters.\n\nYou will also be required to monitor and control operational costs - communicate budgets, KPI's and SLA's and ensure they are monitored and adhered to.\n\nThe Role:\n\nAs Branch Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:\n\nOverseeing all transport and warehouse operations, supporting the Warehouse and Transport functions to ensure efficiency and effectiveness\nProviding leadership, coaching, and development to the team\nMonitoring and reviewing health and safety, transport, and environmental legislation\nControlling operational costs and adhering to budgets, KPIs, and SLAs Reporting directly to the Branch ManagerKey Responsibilities:\n\nCustomer Service and Performance\n\nSupport day-to-day warehouse and transport operations\nEnsure sufficient resource coverage and plan for future requirements\nIdentify and implement process improvements\nMaintain open communication channels with stakeholders\nHelp set warehouse strategy and objectives\nMonitor and control operational costs\nGenerate performance reports\nLead, motivate, and conduct performance reviews for team members\nManage recruitment and address performance issues\n\nCompliance\n\nEnsure adherence to health and safety, environmental, and transport legislation\nMaintain and update staff HSEQ training records\nDeliver staff inductions and identify training needs\nOversee branch maintenance and security\nEnsure proper stock rotation and quality control procedures\nMaintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment Investigate accidents and generate reportsRequirements:\n\nBehaviours\n\nCustomer-focused with a strong 'can-do' attitude\nExcellent communicator and team player\nProfessional, detail-oriented, and results-driven Flexible, proactive, and commercially aware\n\nSkills and Qualifications\n\nExperienced in people management\nStrong numeracy and literacy skills\nProficient with IT, particularly MS Office\nForklift license\nKnowledge of Operator License LegislationHealth and safety awareness\n\nSalary up to £50,000 (more dependent upon experience)\nCompany bonus scheme\nCompany pension scheme and other benefitsWhat next?\n\nFor further information on this Branch Operations Manager position please apply online and we'll be in touch to discuss the role
