Industrial Doors and Shutters Engineer
Salary: £21/hour (£43,680 per annum) + overtime
Location: M4 Corridor (Reading, Swindon, Bristol/Bath)
Type of Work & Hours: Full-time, permanent, field-based, Monday–Friday (with 24/7 call-out rota approx. 1 week in 12)
Our client, a leading nationwide installer and maintenance provider of industrial doors, roller shutters, gates, and access control systems, is seeking a multi-skilled Industrial Doors and Shutters Engineer to join their expanding team. With over 30 years in the industry and prestigious clients across defence, logistics, transport, education, and utilities, this is an opportunity to work on critical infrastructure that keeps the UK moving.
You’ll be responsible for installing, servicing, and maintaining industrial doors and shutters on client sites, bringing your electrical fault-finding and repair expertise to deliver first-class solutions.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll feel valued, rewarded, and supported with ongoing development and training, working alongside a respected engineering team.
Responsibilities:
* Install, service, and maintain industrial doors and roller shutters at client sites
* Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults
* Liaise confidently with clients and internal teams to deliver solutions
* Participate in 24/7 call-out rota (approx. 1 week in 12, with additional pay)
* Complete all documentation and compliance records to company standards
* Ensure all works meet health and safety and quality standards
Person Specification:
* Essential: Experience in the industrial doors and roller shutter industry
* Essential: Electrical fault-finding, repair, and multi-skilled engineering ability
* Essential: Full UK driving licence and strong work ethic
* Desirable: DHF qualification
* Desirable: ADSA qualification
* Strong time management, initiative, and customer service skills
