Our MEP team is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our growing team.

You’ll be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary business with over 600 staff across Building Engineering (MEP, Civil and Structural), Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Transportation, Water, Energy, and Environmental Consultancy.

Our Building Services work spans a wide range of sectors, including Defence, Healthcare, Education, Science, Industrial, Commercial, and Client Advisory, across the UK and abroad.

What you’ll do.

1. Produce Electrical building services engineering designs from concept design through to construction issue and site supervision

2. Execute projects within defined design, programme and cost parameters

3. Carrying out designs on a variety of buildings within different sectors i.e. schools, healthcare, offices, leisure facilities, Government buildings, industrial etc

4. Prepare technical specifications, reports and drawings.

5. Represent AECOM at meetings with clients and contractors.

6. Site surveys and inspections where appropriate.

7. Promote and incorporate sustainable design wherever possible.

8. Conduct design quality reviews/audits as required.

9. Maintaining records and archives to company standards

10. Assist with processes for the development of staff in order to enhance the standards, expertise and reputation of AECOM.

11. Promote and improve inter-discipline working with other disciplines such as Architecture, Building Surveying, Civil and Structural.

12. Monitor emerging legislation and engineering standards relating to electrical building services and ensure their implementation.

13. Input to the design change control process and estimate cost and /or time implications where so delegated.

14. Cooperate with quality, safety and environmental objectives and contribute to the commitment for continual improvement.

15. Assist in the production of fee estimates and bids.

Qualifications

Requirements:

16. Electrical Building Services degree qualified with CEng (or working towards)

17. Similar experience working in a design consultancy, with experience of concept, scheme and detail design across a range of sectors.

18. An understanding of Revit and BIM is beneficial

19. A good understanding of quality assurance, safety and environmental sustainability

20. Able to make decisions, act on own initiative and operate in a pro-active way

21. A degree of financial awareness and the ability to develop this skill further is required

22. Excellent report writing skills, experience of making presentations and attending meetings with clients is essential.

23. Organise and prioritise their own time and tasks to enable the simultaneous running of several projects
