The Operations Engineer/Senior Engineer is responsible for overseeing processing, planning, quality, operation, and maintenance of Waste Water supply and distribution systems to ensure the delivery of clean, safe, and sustainable water services. This role involves managing processes and procedures within the NAV business, conducting site inspections, aligning resources, ensuring regulatory compliance, and optimizing the efficiency of water networks.
A typical day includes:
1. Proactively managing daily operations of wastewater and clean water networks, including connections, sampling, testing, inspections, monitoring, and maintenance, in accordance with company procedures, and making recommendations to prevent recurrence.
2. Managing maintenance, faults, and emergency logs to improve service outputs with service providers.
3. Supporting and managing the CRMC clean water process, routine maintenance, inspection programs, raising purchase orders, and addressing issues with escalation reports involving SLPs and developers.
4. Providing support to the team and ensuring operational administration queries from site developers, contractors, and service providers are resolved.
5. Ensuring proper documentation and quality of services provider connections and commissioning documents.
6. Ensuring compliance with UK water quality standards and regulations, including Ofwat, the Environment Agency, and DWI, with accurate record-keeping and reporting.
7. Monitoring water quality, implementing treatment solutions, and adhering to safety protocols per UK legislation.
8. Overseeing maintenance, repair, and replacement of infrastructure such as pumping stations, pipelines, attenuation, and sewers.
9. Implementing contingency plans for emergencies, supply disruptions, droughts, or contamination incidents in line with UK frameworks.
10. Maintaining asset management records, document control, and ensuring network assets are properly tested, installed, and compliant with industry standards.
If you are interested and meet the following criteria:
* Experience as an Engineer in Waste Water
* Understanding of Non-Conformance reporting, Root Cause Analysis, Inspection & Test Plans, & Quality Plans
* Auditor experience with ISO 9001:2015 standards
* Knowledge of water distribution networks and WIRS SLP Water construction processes
* Experience managing site inspection and auditing records
* Operation and maintenance record management
