Our Oil & Gas Operator client is currently seeking a Commercial Advisor for an initial 12-month PAYE contract based in the city centre of Aberdeen. We are looking for someone with a background in an oil & gas operator business, especially in joint venture agreements and negotiations. Purpose of Role: Responsible for providing direction and guidance, incorporating technical expertise, on Joint Venture, Business Development and Commercial issues relating to NS/OA activities, including project related activity. Duties & Responsibilities to include: Provide assistance to Functions on a range of commercial activities, including agreements covering field assets, pipeline infrastructure and terminal operations; oil and gas sales; and joint venture management. Where appropriate, assistance will include developing a sound understanding of any underlying technical basis or conditions relating to commercial issues and will require an ability to collaboratively work with technical and non-technical personnel to develop effective solutions to commercial issues. Key Activities will vary depending on business drivers at the time, but will include: Develop an understanding of the standards suite of oil and gas agreements associated with company’s UK and Cote d’Ivoire assets, and apply this knowledge in support of company’s business needs Implement company led contract administrative obligations and manage JV contract administrative obligations Work with teams to understand on-going operational and engineering issues that require commercial input and focus Take the lead with multi-discipline teams to deliver commercially based business strategies Develop a sound understanding of all technical conditions relating to commercial issues, and investigate and develop commercial strategies to resolve issues Develop solutions that consider all commercially viable options available and have taken into account all likely stakeholder opinions Lead engagements with joint venture partners and third parties for communication, contract compliance and in order to implement strategies in timely fashion Market and implement oil and gas sale contracts Actively support A&D/transition activity providing all relevant commercial data as and when required Ensure company’s compliance with NTSA’s existing Commercial Code of Practice and Infrastructure Code of Practice Willingness to travel when required to resolve commercial issues. Interpersonal Skills: Essential: Self-starter Excellent ability to work as a valuable contributor to the team Ability to work flexibly and be able to determine appropriate priorities Willing to work hard to meet deadlines without close supervision. Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written Ability to prioritise varying workloads. Highly developed problems solving ability – able to find creative and practical solutions to often complex problems.
