About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and experienced pharmacy professional to take on the role of Area Manager (Pharmacy Operations), overseeing the operational performance of our community pharmacy branches across the Rhondda Cynon Taf area.
This role is ideally suited for an Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT) or experienced Dispenser looking to step into a multi-site leadership role, while continuing to support excellent patient care. You will work closely with pharmacy teams to ensure compliance, efficiency, and outstanding service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support the operational performance of 12 community pharmacy branches.
* Supervise, mentor, and motivate pharmacy teams (pharmacists, ACTs, dispensers, counter staff).
* Ensure compliance with all GPhC standards, SOPs, and company policies.
* Drive improvements in branch KPIs including prescription growth, services, and OTC sales.
* Deliver excellent patient care and ensure safe, accurate, and efficient pharmacy operations.
* Support staff recruitment, training, and development across branches.
* Provide operational cover (ACT/dispensing support) when required.
* Work with senior management to deliver company strategy and local initiatives.
* Build strong links with local communities to enhance patient services.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
* Registered Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT) or experienced Dispenser.
* Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations and compliance standards.
* Previous supervisory or team leader experience.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
* Ability to travel flexibly across all listed locations.
Desirable:
* Previous multi-site management experience.
* NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services Skills (or equivalent).
* Experience working to and delivering against business KPIs.
