JOB: HOTEL SALES MANAGER (Part time 3 days) SALARY: £40,000 pro rata BENEFITS: * Private healthcare * pension scheme with employer input of 5% * annual salary increases * bonus scheme of 7.5% (on £40k) paid annually (this scheme starts at the beginning of the calendar year as it’s a new one) * Life assurance of x2 of salary after two years, * incremental holiday increases with long service, * excellent employee assistance programme LOCATION: PORTSMOUTH Our client based in Portsmouth is looking for a Hotel Sales Manager to work on a part time (3 days a week) basis to increase corporate accounts, conference sales, successful RFP completion, attraction of new local, national and international clients, compilation of strategic sales plans in line with the overarching business. You will have have key relationships with: Rooms and Revenue Manager, Marketing Manager, Human Resources Manager, Finance Manager, Hospitality Manager Job Summary: The Hotel Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by developing and executing strategic sales plans to attract new business and retain existing clients. This role focuses on promoting the hotel’s services and facilities to corporate clients, event planners, travel agencies, and other potential customers. The ideal candidate is a dynamic, results-driven professional with strong interpersonal skills and a deep understanding of the hospitality industry. Key Responsibilities of the Hotel Sales Manager • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets across all market segments (corporate, leisure, group, and events). • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, cold calling, and attending industry events. • Maintain relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business and customer satisfaction. • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals. • Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials and campaigns. • Conduct site inspections and hotel tours for potential clients. • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to adjust strategies accordingly. • Manage and update the customer relationship management (CRM) system. • Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for senior management. • Coordinate with operations and event teams to ensure seamless execution of client bookings. • Monitor and comply with all company and legal statutory requirements Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality Management, or a related field would be preferred, however it is not essential * Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in hotel sales or a similar role. * Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets. * Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills. * Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Knowledge of local market and industry trends is a plus. Working Conditions: * Part time position with occasional evening and work required for hosting show rounds and meetings. * Travel may be necessary for client meetings, trade shows, and networking events.
