About the role
As part of the Maintenance team, you will be reporting to the Continuous Improvement Manager. You will also be working along with all Production, Packout, QA, Engineering, Supply Chain, Field, and key contacts within the Talley’s group. Remuneration will be based on your experience and qualifications, with the Annual Salary ranging between $100K - $115K.
You will be mainly working from Monday – Friday. Some additional hours and weekend work may be required.
As a Process Automation Technician, you will be responsible for:
4. Providing systems and automation solutions and technical support for the various departments and project teams, administering the digital process control systems including capital and continuous improvement initiatives with a strong focus on Safety, Quality and Cost.
5. Conducting daily system audits and providing support to the operations team with regards to digital process control and training staff to build capability.
6. Conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) involving operations, product development, sales and engineering as required.
7. Assisting and mentoring operational team members to better understand the automation controls and impacts, including assistance with development and implementation of trouble shooting guides.
8. Implementation of PLC, HMI, SCADA and MES projects and/or specifying a scope of work to be implemented by external contractors.
For this role, you’ll need:
9. Automation/ Instrumentation Engineering qualification.
10. 3+ year’s prior experience in process control automation.
11. Proficiency in PLC Software (e.g., Schneider Control Expert, Schneider Systems Platform, Siemens TIA Portal).
12. Proficiency in JavaScript/ Python/ C++ or similar development environment.
13. Working knowledge of the following brands (legacy and modern) would be useful Proficy, iFIX, Rockwell, Siemens, AVEVA InTouch & System Platform SCADA and Ignition SCADA.
