Sandwell Museums is seeking a motivated Learning Officer to join our dynamic team, which manages 6 heritage buildings and hosts a vibrant programme of museum activities.
The Learning Officer will lead our formal learning initiatives for schools and educational groups. Responsibilities include supporting and developing existing activities, creating new engaging learning programmes, and supervising a team of leaders delivering school sessions.
Essential requirements:
* Build and nurture partnerships with local schools and home-educated groups to support their creative learning needs, and seek funding opportunities for activities.
* Collaborate with the Museum Services Manager and Arts and Projects Officer to deliver formal and family learning activities and displays.
* Experience in a learning environment, delivering hands-on activities, supervising staff or volunteers, and maintaining high standards of customer service.
* Educated to degree level in a related subject or hold equivalent qualifications, such as teaching or teaching assistant qualifications.
* Grade C or above in GCSE Maths and English, or equivalent.
Hours: 21 hours per week.
The role requires an enhanced DBS check.
