A bit about the role…
Reporting to the Channel Manager – Retail Delivery, this role is responsible for leading retail projects that form part of the Annual Business Plan (ABP) and will require cross functional working across multiple departments to seek new opportunities to test, trial and roll out the latest technology in the lottery sector in new and existing retailers.
The RDM will bring stakeholders together to facilitate the strategic delivery of the ABP plans as well as being responsible for the management of significant projects in retail. This role works closely with stakeholders around the business especially the Project Management Office where the projects are managed centrally.
The RDM develops projects from concept to the project management stage by aligning and gaining buy in from all appropriate stakeholders both internally and externally with our retail partners. At the project management stage, the RDM is the conduit between the project manager and the commercial function, translating and refining the views and progress of the commercial, IT and project management functions
Simply, this role brings to life and into retail, all of the exciting new technology and projects that the retailers, public, Allwyn, The Gambling Commission and all participants are looking forward to. The RDM is going to be at the forefront of exciting developments in retail for one of the biggest brands in the UK.
This role is offered on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be required travel at least bi-weekly to our Watford HQ and be prepared to travel to locations around the UK with some overnight stays as and when required. This role will come with a company car and fuel card.
What you’ll be doing…
* Deliver multiple projects within retail to fulfill the ABP and business requirements
* Deliver brand new to market technology for the advancement of TNL in retail
* Owning the management of OPEX and Capex budgets for projects up to £1m
* Lead marketing strategy for projects, tracking, spending and analysing multiple streams totaling upwards of £1m
* Work with key internal stakeholders to own and develop projects from initialisation of ideas to the project management stage, assist the project manager through the Change Management Framework and be the conduit into the rest of the business
* Identify opportunities within the lottery and technology sectors which will advance the sales and good causes raised by attending external events and staying close to market trends and updates
* Work alongside Channel Managers, Senior National Account Managers, National Account Managers and National Account Executives to deliver projects and initiatives within multiple retailers.
* To be a subject matter expert in how Allwyn’s gaming solution can be integrated into a retailers EPOS system
* Strategic thinking for business unit & support channel strategy, for activation of the new technology and the transformation programme
* Demonstrate and lead strong cross functional working relationships internally
* Build a strong network of external stakeholders within relevant retail channels at a technical and commercial level, working with the account manager to deliver projects
* Provide long term insight based on technology, market and retailer trends, helping to inform TNL plans within designated customers
* Develop a thorough understanding of retailers and generate key insights to drive strategic thinking and day-to-day activities
* Manage and work alongside 3rd parties, understanding their role within a project and extract their expertise to use in BAU
* Understand and manage business cases including costs and revenue, working with the project manager and PMO
* Work alongside the National Account Managers and within the retailers’ organisation to ensure plans are implemented across all the relevant departments
* Develop and implement a robust comms plan internally throughout different stages of the business
* Identify opportunities for new or existing product development and placement within assigned retailers
* Support technical business wide projects such as game changes and enhancements
* Ensure Responsible Play is covered within all projects undertaken
What experience we’re looking for…
* Proven track record of working cross-functionally to drive innovation and a culture of continuous improvement across the team, function and organisation
* Experience of managing 3rd party relationships and stakeholders
* Solution based mindset
* Ability to understand technical processes at a level to communicate onwards into the business
* Deep understanding of the retail sector (preferably with The National Lottery)
* Proven ability to manage relationships at Director level
* Experience of trialing new initiatives with customers utilising current and future business technology and processes
* Understanding of business & retailer’s needs, business strategy and operations
* Management of projects through a business at all levels
* Experience of analysing financial and business performance providing insight and recommendations to help form wider plans
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills including report writing
* Knowledge of customer’s competitors and Allwyn’s competitors
* Confident in presenting in front of large audiences both internally and externally
* Strong awareness of reporting software with ability to create reports
* Project management experience with large budgets
* Ability to work quickly and come back with solution-based recommendations to project or business-based issues
* Exceptional ability to work cross functionally
* Proficient in Microsoft Office
* Flexibility to be at Allwyn locations and customer meetings throughout the week
* Full UK Driving License

Uses a strong degree of judgement, discretion and creativity, aligned to Channel Manager, to persuade the business and accounts to adopt a favourable view to deliver the best execution and TNL offering as possible
* Leadership: Projects – Executes projects from start to finish taking all stakeholders on the journey. Showing leadership through collaboration and giving direction/fact-based opinion to the business
* Leadership: Financial Management - Directs the allocation of resources to meet financial performance requirements; Delivers required return on investment through effective financial forecasting & management
* Leadership: Development – Clear development plan for self, assisted by Channel Manager to grow in the role
