A specialist secondary SEN school in Didsbury is seeking a committed and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join their exceptional team. The school supports pupils aged 11-16 with a range of additional needs, including autism, learning difficulties, communication needs and social, emotional and mental health needs. The staff are passionate about helping every student reach their full potential in a supportive, structured environment.
The Role
As a valued member of the support team, you will:
Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with diverse SEND needs.
Assist in delivering personalised learning activities under the guidance of teaching staff.
Help students regulate their emotions, build confidence and engage positively in lessons.
Use communication strategies and behavioural support techniques appropriate to each learner.
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and the SENCO to ensure high-quality provision.
