Lancashire Constabulary's Intelligence & Crime Support Team is seeking an Intelligence Analyst to be based at Hutton Headquarters. The site is accessible by public transport and there is also free car parking on site. This post is temporary until 9 months from appointment.
The Intelligence Analyst is responsible for undertaking operational and investigative analysis, providing direction and recommendations. The Analyst will be required to support investigations right through to the court process producing evidential standard documents and attending judicial proceedings (Crown Court) to explain their analysis. Provision of advice and support in respect of analytical issues is key along with developing own knowledge and skills to support investigations.
Proficient use of Constabulary systems and analytical software is required to fully explore the data acquired when supporting operations and investigations, and this includes the analysis of communications data, ANPR, and digital media.
A flexible approach to working hours and location will be required along with commitment to continuous professional development.
These are challenging roles and the Analyst will carry a varied and stretching workload, and need to be able to prioritise their workload and work on their own initiative, but the satisfaction of helping to achieve justice for communities, victims, or victims' families is most rewarding.
The successful candidate will also hold a full UK driving license.
As part of the recruitment process, candidates will be required to complete a practical element which will include the candidates analysing a set of data and producing a short report. This is not under invigilated conditions and candidates will be allowed 1 week to work through this task.
