Job Title: M&E Project Manager - Enabling Works (Healthcare Imaging Projects) Location: St Albans (Office-based) Salary: Up to £80,000 per annum Car Allowance About the Role We're recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced M&E Project Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and delivery of mechanical and electrical (M&E) enabling works for advanced imaging equipment (MRI, CT, X-ray, etc.) in healthcare environments. This role blends project management with deep technical understanding of M&E systems, ensuring that all enabling works are delivered on time, to budget, and in compliance with NHS technical and regulatory standards before specialist equipment installation. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage all aspects of M&E enabling works from design through to completion and handover. Oversee planning, scheduling, and cost control to ensure projects are delivered to scope, budget, and programme. Manage and coordinate M&E contractors, consultants, and specialist suppliers. Review and approve technical documentation including designs, method statements, risk assessments, and commissioning plans. Ensure compliance with NHS technical standards (HTM, HBN) and statutory requirements. Oversee commissioning, testing, and validation activities to confirm infrastructure readiness. Liaise with imaging equipment suppliers and installation teams to ensure seamless integration. Provide clear progress reports, risk assessments, and issue resolution strategies to client stakeholders. Maintain full project documentation, certification, and close-out records. Candidate Requirements Degree or equivalent in Building Services, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or related field. Proven experience managing M&E projects within healthcare environments (hospitals, imaging suites, labs, etc.). Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, medical gas, and critical building services. Familiarity with NHS standards including HTM 06, HTM 08, HBN 06. Demonstrated ability to manage contractors, consultants, and diverse stakeholders. Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
