We are recruiting for a Medicines Management Pharmacy Assistant who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
We are looking for a dedicated Medicines Management Pharmacy Assistant (MMPA) to support the Medicine Management Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacists at ward level to provide Medicines Management services.
The role includes duties such as patient counselling, assembling medicines at ward level, topping up wards with stock.
You will also participate in the dispensing of prescriptions for in-patients and in associated pharmaceutical duties.
Full training will be provided in the department. You must have a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
Experience of working in a pharmaceutical related or hospital environment is essential. The applicant must possess an NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy services.
Working hours include a weekly late shift till 6:30pm, working 1 in 8 weekends as per the rota and 1 bank holiday per year.

Main duties of the job
To sort returned drugs/waste at ward level, separating items to be credited and those to be discarded, according to procedure; to put back returns on the computer as per procedure.
To participate in the "topping-up" service supplying stocks of medicinal products to wards and departments and participate in the ‘non-stock’ top up service to one stop wards.
To provide information to patients/carers, according to procedures; to provide information about prescription payment, exemption and further supplies as well.
To supervise as required, less experienced pharmacy support workers, pre-registration pharmacy technicians.
To participate in the in-house continuing education programme for medicine management team.
