 
        
        About the Role: Counselling Teacher
We are seeking a committed and experienced Therapeutic Counselling Tutor to join our team at Activate Learning. You will play a vital role in delivering our foundation level counselling, helping to shape the professional and personal development of aspiring counsellors.
Responsible for delivering engaging and effective teaching, learning, and assessment for adult learners pursuing counselling qualifications in line with BACP ethical standards, while supporting the development of core competencies, reflective practice, and readiness for placements and professional accreditation.
This is a permanent, part-time position working 22 hours per week across three days (0.6 FTE) on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with flexibility on the third day for the right candidate.
What do you need to be successful as a Counselling Teacher at Activate Learning?
We are looking for individuals who can serve as role models for our learners, ensuring they graduate with not only professional qualifications but also the skills needed to succeed in the workplace.
You must have
 1. A bachelor's degree or master’s degree in Counselling - minimum 450 hours training (Master’s level preferred)
 2. Registered and Accredited membership of BACP or an equivalent recognised professional body
 3. Completion of at least 10 hours of personal therapy as part of your training
 4. Evidence of ongoing CPD (minimum 30 hours annually)
 5. Current supervised counselling practice with a minimum of 2 years post-qualifying experience
 6. A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, CertEd, Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training) or willingness to work towards one
 7. At least 1 years' experience teaching and assessing at Level 3 or above (desirable)
