Meridian Business Support is delighted to be searching for a Student Personal Development Manager for a fantastic FE setting in Cambridge. This pivotal role is required to plan, manage and implement the college’s centrally devised personal development programme for students, adult learners and apprentices. This includes the materials for tutors and teachers, student voice programmes, enrichment, and events linked to national and local priorities. You will be responsible for managing the teams associated with student personal development, pastoral support, enrichment and learning resources providing a consistent excellent service to all stakeholders, leading to successful student progression and post-college destinations. Key Duties: To lead on the planning, development and delivery of the personal development Calendar to ensure that topics, events and activities are included that provide an appropriate and relevant programme, relating to the personal development curriculum in line with Ofsted requirements To lead on the creation, development and consistency of tutorial resources (TMail) for all provision types, differentiated by level, in collaboration with curriculum and quality teams. Ensure that resources are in place to support student induction programmes to ensure an excellent student experience Develop and deliver training for tutors on TMail topics and other elements of personal development delivery where they may require additional support/coaching To lead on the planning and delivery of Freshers’ Fairs, enterprise competitions and other cross-college events and activities relating to personal development Lead on the planning and resources to support the student induction programmes to ensure an excellent student experience Lead on the delivery of student voice processes, including recruitment and training of student representatives, the planning and implementation of departmental boards, and an annual student conference. To lead on the co-ordination and development of a cross-college inclusive enrichment offer, monitor student and apprentice engagement and increase participation. To work with relevant departments to support, help inform, and embed a relevant enrichment programme. Lead on the Students’ Union Executives from the elections process and ensure they are supported to promote their work, engage students on relevant student voice and enrichment initiatives. To lead and chair the sub-committee of the College Environment & Sustainability Group (Student Awareness & Engagement Group), which has a focus on student participation. This includes the overseeing of the Student Eco-Council To manage the development of pastoral support across the college, provided to EHCP and high needs students studying vocational courses at college To plan and deliver packages of intervention to students who require support, including ‘on track’ referrals to PD coaches, working closely with curriculum and support managers. To ensure high quality learning resource centres are managed and maintained at both campuses. Ensure effective mechanisms are in place to monitor participation by students and apprentices, and evaluate the engagement and impact of all activities The salary for this position is between £38,601 and £39,190 with a competitive benefits package and generous annual leave. It is essential that you hold: A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field. Evidence of continuous professional development. Qualified to minimum Level 2 standard in English and Maths Good knowledge of IT packages A relevant Level 3 qualification or equivalent relevant to the role.
