Overview
CAE is seeking a dynamic Business Development / Sales Manager UK - Military Pilot Training to join our Defence & Security team and drive growth in military pilot training. The role is based in Burgess Hill, England, United Kingdom, with regular presence in the Burgess Hill location as required.
Responsibilities
* As a key member of the Business Development team, identify and lead the business development and sales of CAE products and services in the UK, aligning with CAE’s corporate strategy.
* Leverage your network to build strong business relationships within the armed forces and the broader Defence ecosystem (e.g., DE&S, OEMs as partners/customers, and suppliers).
* Understand and develop customer requirements to match CAE’s business capabilities.
* Propose and develop business capabilities to meet future customer and market needs, identifying new entry points for exploitation.
* Lead all assigned B2B and B2G opportunities from prospecting to contract award, ensuring compliance with governance and the lead-to-award process. Own new business opportunities and close orders.
* Achieve business growth and financial goals, expand the long-term opportunity pipeline, and develop lasting partnerships.
* Plan and coordinate trade fairs and other marketing events; represent CAE at key trade events and exhibitions.
* Align S&BD activities with other functions (Capture, Bid, Program, Customer Services, Portfolio, Legal, Finance) and communicate with leadership on strategic matters.
* Maintain accurate CRM data for pipeline and revenue forecasting; deliver reports to internal stakeholders including Executive Leadership and Direct Managers.
* Ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
Experience & Skills
* Strong BD/Sales experience in the Defence sector.
* Proven track record in developing the Defence ecosystem and customer relationships, influencing decision-making, and securing large aerospace/defence program wins.
* Experience in the military fixed wing or rotary wing domain is welcome but not required.
* Strong industry network and enthusiasm for frequent customer engagement and relationship development.
* Experience with capture processes, including development and execution of capture strategies, requirements shaping, price-to-win development, competitive assessment, and understanding discriminators and requirements to win.
* High level of autonomy and ability to collaborate across functions.
* Ability to obtain or transfer Security Clearance; UK residency for past 5 years is required, or current NATO SC security clearance that can be transferred to the UK. CAE sponsors clearance.
