Are you passionate about supporting students with special educational needs? Do you hold a Level 2 British Sign Language (BSL) qualification and want to make a real difference in a young person's education? We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced BSL Teaching Assistant to join a highly respected SEN secondary school in Luton on a permanent, full-time basis.
You will be working 1:1 with a Key Stage 4 student who is deaf or hearing impaired, supporting them to access the curriculum and thrive in their learning environment. Your Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored 1:1 support using British Sign Language to aid communication and understanding
* Work closely with teaching staff and the SEN team to implement individual learning plans
* Support the student's emotional, social, and educational development
* Promote inclusion and independence in the classroom
* Contribute to progress reviews and collaborate with external professionals as needed
Requirements:
* BSL Level 2 qualification (minimum - essential)
* Experience working with students with SEN, particularly hearing impairments
* Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills
* A genuine passion for working with young people with additional needs
* A current DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one
