About Us SailGP is the world's most exciting racing on-water! Established in 2018, we are a global, seasonal championship now entering our 6th Season. Role Details SailGP is seeking a full-time Finance Manager who will be based in Southampton, with travel to London required. This role will report to the Head of Capital Finance, who is responsible for overseeing the financial management of SailGP’s Capital, Shared Services and Technology departments. The departments which fall under this remit include: the Southampton based SailGP Technologies facility - our outpost responsible for the build and repair of the F50 catamarans, the onsite team of technical personnel responsible for ensuring each F50 catamarans is ready for racing at each event, our business as usual technology requirements and technology projects including autonomous camera race-marks, F50 catamaran simulators and liveline graphic developments. Further areas include our core shared service functions including insurance and global logistics. The successful candidate will have strong data analytical skills, with experience working towards better processes and solutions in financial management and stakeholder engagement. Comfortability deciphering highly technical information and skilled individuals, with the ability to translate to clear financial planning and budgets is imperative. This role will have a clear focus on managing the finances of SailGP Technologies. Experience with build production planning, labour allocation and manning plans, inventory tracking and management, and material procurement strategies would be beneficial. Key Responsibilities To business partner with key individuals across each department, which include: Regular check-ins, Reporting on department performance, Understanding opportunity and risks to the budget, and Supporting ad-hoc financial analysis requests. To support the regular and timely monthly reporting requirements which include: Actual to budget variance performance, Contribute to management and board level reporting as required, Financial analysis on key performance indicators such as technical operations workforce planning, and Business casing/modelling for ad-hoc project requests. To support the financial accounting processes including: Responsibility for month-end department accruals, Month-end balance sheet reconciliations, and Reviewing month-end allocation journals. To advance the financial processes at SailGP Technologies including: Build production planning - cashflow expenditure tracking against build completion dates, Labour allocation and manning plans - updating personnel rate-cards and accurately allocating budget against projects Inventory tracking and management - implementing and maintaining a finance compatible system, and Overseeing a material and consumable procurement strategy. Technical Requirements ACA / CA or equivalent qualification. 3 years experience post qualification in a finance role, Experience in managing budget process, variance reporting and stakeholder management Attributes Excellent spoken and written communication skills. Ability to operate both independently and in a collaborative team environment. Analytical mind with problem solving aptitude.
